S.I.N.G (Schools In Natural Groove), is a national vocalising, body sound and movement competition open to youth aged 19 and under. The catch is, competitors can only use their voices and bodies to create the music - NO INSTRUMENTS ALLOWED!
In 2020, Sharon founded Black Rock Productions. The company specializes in event management services (weddings, large scale cabaret and theatre productions). Black Rock Productions is also a Social Enterprise. The company provides musical workshops and programs for youth and women at risk, facilitates workshops and programs in schools, and also offers musical programs and workshops which focus on the integration of music into the well being and healing of the community.
The concept for S.I.N.G was developed over several years by singer/songwriter and entertainment business entrepreneur, Sharon Brooks. With well over 27 years in the entertainment industry, Sharon is based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia for the past 10 years, and has established herself as not only a professional and competent entertainer and vocalist, but also as a vocal tutor and coach, motivational speaker and business owner.

Teams will be judged in the following categories:
Vocal Music (performances where vocals are the primary part of the performance i.e. chorales, choirs, beatbox, rap, spoken word, chanting, ceremonial chanting).
Body Music (The primary art of the performances is to utilize the body as the source of the musical sound (step, stomp, tap).
Crossover Music (both vocal and body is combined to make a performance).
Round 1- Entry Round - applications sent online.
Round 2- Video Round - submit a video (introduce the group and a little sample of what they want to do) 2 minutes. Top 5 teams from each category in each division move on to the finals' weekend. Round 3 - Finals' weekend on Sunshine Coast.
S.I.N.G will be a national competition with four judges. We have currently confirmed Asabi Goodman (Artistic Director of BRP & International Singer/Actor), Sam Coward (Radio Host Hot 91fm Sunshine Coast/Actor), and pending Luke Kennedy (Singer/Actor) and Naomi Price (Singer/Actor).

What is the entry fee?
$40 per group
Who is eligible to enter?
S. I. N. G is open to all Australians aged 19 years and under.
o Entrants must be in a group of three or more competitors and can be a mixture of genders and ages.
o All children aged 19 and under are eligible to compete, regardless of sex, race, religious background or social status. o Community groups which qualify as home-education groups, SES Schools and all other organisations registered by the Ministry of Education as an educational service are also eligible to enter. Proof of your educational status must be presented.

How many teams can one school enter?
Schools can enter as many teams as they like per category.
How many people can be on a team?
All teams must have a minimum of 3 students and this can be a combination of any ages up to a maximum of 19 years old.
How to enter?
An expression of interest form will be made available on the SING website at www.blackrockprod.com. Once this form is completed and submitted, you will receive an email with instructions on how to upload your audition videos to begin the process.
